How to Play Flue Snag

  1. 1

    Read the Lantern

The lantern shows a number from 0 to 10. The game also says that number out loud in English. That is the balloon you need.

  2. 2

    Watch the Lift

Latex balloons rise through the garden. They sway on the air and do not sit still.

  3. 3

    Pop the Match

Tap the balloon whose number matches the lantern. A hit bursts and scores. The wrong balloon deflates, breaks the streak, and costs a life.

  4. 4

Do Not Let It Float Away

If the matching balloon leaves the top of the garden, that is a miss. Eight pops win. Three misses end the run.

Key Features

  • Latex Balloons, Not Quiz Cards

Shiny party balloons lift through a dusk garden, each printed with a number. You pop the called digit as it rises — the pieces move, they are not a row of answer buttons.

  • Hear It, Then Pop It

A glowing lantern shows the target and speaks the English number name. Pop the matching balloon. A miss deflates the wrong one. Letting the target float off the top costs a life.

  • Combo Scoring

Each pop pays 100 plus a streak bonus. Hits burst off the balloon. Eight clean pops clear the garden. Best scores save per difficulty.

  • Three Lift Speeds

Easy uses 1–5 on a slow rise. Medium opens 0–10 with four balloons. Hard adds a fifth balloon and a faster lift.

What is Flue Snag?

Flue Snag is a preschool and kindergarten number-identification game. Glossy balloons rise through a dusk garden. A lantern calls a number from 0 to 10. The player pops the matching balloon before it floats away. That is spotting numerals in motion, not picking a card from a quiz strip.

Why Play Flue Snag?

  • 1

    Numbers Move

Students keep the target in mind while balloons rise. Recognition has to happen while the piece is still in reach.

  • 2

    Heard and Seen

The call is a spoken English number name plus a large numeral. Kids map the word to the digit.

  • 3

    Instant Pop

A good pop scores at once. A deflate or an escape is a miss. There is no check-your-work button.

  • 4

    Touch First

Balloons are large enough to tap. The mute control sits with the score row, not under the fullscreen button.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I tap?

The balloon whose number matches the lantern. If the lantern shows 7, pop the balloon with 7. Leave the other balloons alone.

Does the game say the number out loud?

Yes. Each new target is spoken in English (zero through ten). Tap the lantern again to hear it. Mute turns off both speech and game sounds.

What if I tap the wrong number?

The balloon deflates, the streak resets, and you lose a life. A new wave starts. Letting the matching balloon float off the top is also a miss.

What do Easy, Medium, and Hard change?

The number range, how many balloons rise at once, and how fast they lift. Easy stays on 1–5. Medium and Hard use 0–10.

What grade is this for?

Pre-K through first grade (about ages 4–7), when students learn to name numerals 0–10. Stay on Easy for 1–5.
