Answer addition and subtraction facts to move a runner along a track. Each correct answer sprints forward one step — race to the finish line before time runs out or you lose all lives.
Choose Difficulty and Mode
Pick Easy (addition to 10), Medium (add/subtract to 20), or Hard (mixed to 50). Then select Time Trial (beat the clock) or Survival (3 lives, no timer).
Read the Problem
A math problem appears in large text — for example '7 + 5 = ?' or '14 − 6 = ?'. Calculate the answer mentally.
Tap the Correct Answer
Four buttons offer possible answers. Tap the correct one to sprint forward on the track. Use keyboard keys 1–4 for fast desktop play.
Race to the Finish
Each correct answer moves your runner one step closer to the finish flag. Build a streak for bragging rights and try to beat your best time!
Visual Running Track
A colorful track shows your runner's progress from start to finish. Every correct answer moves the runner one step forward with a smooth animation — watch yourself sprint toward the finish flag!
Three Difficulty Levels
Easy uses addition only with numbers 1–10 and a 10-step track. Medium adds subtraction with numbers up to 20 on a 15-step track. Hard mixes both operations with numbers up to 50 on a 20-step track.
Time Trial and Survival Modes
In Time Trial, reach the finish line before the clock runs out (60–90 seconds depending on difficulty). In Survival, you have 3 lives — wrong answers cost a life but there's no timer.
Four Colorful Answer Buttons
Big emerald, orange, sky, and purple buttons make it easy to tap fast. Keyboard shortcuts 1–4 enable lightning-fast desktop play. Correct answers flash green; mistakes show red and reveal the answer.
Sum Sprint is a math-meets-racing game where a runner on a track advances one step for every addition or subtraction fact you answer correctly. The goal is simple: reach the finish line. In Time Trial mode you race against the clock — solve 10, 15, or 20 problems before time expires. In Survival mode there's no timer, but you only have 3 lives and each wrong answer costs one. The visual track with an animated runner makes arithmetic practice feel like a sport — you can see your progress in real time and feel the excitement of approaching the finish flag. Easy mode uses only single-digit addition, making it perfect for young learners. Medium and Hard introduce subtraction and larger numbers for older students and adults.
Builds Arithmetic Fluency
Speed and accuracy with basic addition and subtraction facts is the foundation of all higher math. Practicing under time pressure builds automaticity so these facts become second nature.
Motivating Visual Progress
Unlike abstract score counters, the running track provides concrete visual feedback. Seeing the runner advance creates a sense of momentum that motivates students to keep going.
Adjustable Challenge
Three difficulty levels and two game modes create six distinct experiences. Young children can practice addition to 10 without time pressure, while adults can sprint through mixed operations against the clock.
Develops Speed Under Pressure
Real-world math requires quick thinking. The racing format trains students to stay calm and recall facts quickly — a skill that transfers to timed tests and everyday calculations.
Easy mode uses addition only (e.g., 3 + 4). Medium and Hard modes add subtraction (e.g., 15 − 7). All problems are designed so answers are always positive whole numbers.
Easy has 10 steps, Medium has 15, and Hard has 20. Each correct answer advances the runner one step. You need to answer that many problems correctly to finish the race.
In Survival mode you lose one of your 3 lives. In Time Trial mode wrong answers don't cost lives but waste precious seconds — the runner stays put until you get the next one right.
