How to Play Tide Pair

  1. 1

    Drift In

Pick Easy, Medium, or Hard. Press Drift. Two shells play. Listen once, then Drag.

  2. 2

    Same or Split

If the pitches match, Drag both shells into the Same pool. If they differ, Drag them apart onto the Split rocks.

  3. 3

    Watch the Pool

A correct sort swirls Same, pops pearls, and adds Score and Streak. A miss is a wave slap and costs a life.

  4. 4

    Finish Ten Pairs

Ten Pairs end the tide. Three misses also end it. Best remembers your high Score.

Key Features

  • A Tide Pool

Foam, wet stone, and anemones. Two shells float on the water and play their pitches. The Same pool sits in the center. Split rocks wait on the sides.

  • Drag, Do Not Tap Buttons

Drag both shells. If the pitches match, drag them together into Same. If they differ, drag them apart onto Split.

  • Pearls or a Wave Slap

A hit swirls the pool and pops pearls. A miss slaps the shells back and costs a life. Score and Streak track the Pairs.

  • Difficulty Changes the Ear

Easy is unison versus a wide interval. Medium moves the pitches closer. Hard is a major 2nd versus Same, with a short listen. Best Score is saved for each setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What skill does Tide Pair practice?

Pitch matching. Kids hear two shells and decide Same or Split, then Drag them into the pool or onto the rocks.

How do I move the shells?

Drag each shell with a finger or the pointer. There are no answer buttons. Drop both shells before the pair is judged.

How do Score and Streak work?

A correct Same or Split sort adds Score and grows Streak. A wave slap resets Streak and costs a life. Best is saved per difficulty.

Can I mute the water tones?

Yes. The speaker button sits on the stone HUD next to Score, Streak, and Pairs. It remembers Mute or Sound.
