Pitch Yank Game for High and Low Tones

Kite Lift

A bleached dune and a coral kite on twine. A tone plays High or Low. Yank the kite by dragging it, then release in the High cloud band or the Low dune band to match the tone. A Nice lift! snaps the kite into the band and grows Score and Streak. A Flutter! drops the kite and costs a life. Ten Lifts or three misses end the run. Easy uses far octaves and a slow tone. Medium is G3 vs D5. Hard is closer still with a short tone.

Yank Sun or Storm to Match Major and Minor

Mode Weather

A slate lighthouse. A short scale or triad plays. Major wants Sun. Minor wants Storm. Yank the weather vane High for Sun or Low for Storm — the stage stays slate until you commit. A right Yank is Shifted! A wrong way is a Miss. Ten Shifts reach Harbor clear.

Porch Chime

An evening porch. A moth taps copper tubes in a short tune. Listen, then Tap the tubes in the same order. Four pentatonic tubes hang over clapboard: C, E, G, and A. Eight Echoes win. Three moth drops end the run. Score and Streak climb with each clean echo.

Major, Natural minor, Dorian, Mixolydian

Scale Climb

A granite ridge names a mode on the cairn: Major, Natural minor, Dorian, or Mixolydian. Stones are pitches. Climb by tapping the next scale degree, 1 through 8. A wrong step is a Drop down a ledge. Finish the ridge four times. High-school pitch work on a mountain, not answer buttons.

Sol Step

A greenhouse. Stepping stones labeled do re mi sit in the moss. A short pentatonic phrase plays. Hop the stones in order. A hit lights the stone and a seedling pops. A miss slips into the moss. Easy is 3 notes with a helper glow. Medium is 4 with no glow. Hard is 5, faster. Score, Streak, Steps, three lives, and a Best. do re mi stay as practice words.

Hear an Interval, Leap the Matching Gap

Span Leap

A rust canyon, two cliff ledges, and a rope whose width is the interval you hear. Hear two tones, drag the climber onto the matching rope, then Leap. A small gap is an m2. A wide gap is a P8. Board the far ledge for Score and a Streak. A wrong rope is a Fall into the shade.

Tide Pair

Tide pools. Two shells drift and play pitches. Drag them together into Same if they match. Drag them apart onto Split rocks if they differ. Ten Pairs finish the tide. Three wave slaps end it. Score and Streak climb with each clean sort.
