The Rugby Teams Spinner Wheel is an interactive rugby tool that randomly selects one of 16 iconic international rugby nations. From the All Blacks' Haka and 77% lifetime win rate to Japan's 'Miracle of Brighton' upset of South Africa in 2015 — the biggest shock in rugby history — and Nelson Mandela donning a Springbok jersey to unite a post-apartheid nation, each spin reveals a team's competition, region, and a jaw-dropping piece of rugby lore. Perfect for rugby fans, World Cup followers, newcomers to the sport, or anyone who loves the passion, physicality, and global culture of rugby union.
The wheel includes New Zealand (All Blacks), South Africa (Springboks), Australia (Wallabies), England, France (Les Bleus), Ireland, Wales (Dragons), Argentina (Los Pumas), Japan (Brave Blossoms), Fiji (Flying Fijians), Samoa (Manu Samoa), Scotland (Brave Hearts), Italy (Azzurri), Georgia (Lelos), Tonga (Ikale Tahi), and Romania (Oaks).
South Africa leads with 4 World Cup titles (1995, 2007, 2019, 2023), becoming the outright record holders after winning their fourth at the 2023 France World Cup. New Zealand has won 3 (1987, 2011, 2015), Australia has won 2 (1991, 1999), and England is the only Northern Hemisphere nation to have won it (2003).
At the 2015 Rugby World Cup in Brighton, Japan beat South Africa 34-32 in what is universally regarded as the greatest upset in rugby history. Japan were 80-1 outsiders. In the final play, with Japan needing a converted try to win (rather than a drop goal to draw), captain Michael Leitch chose to attack — and scored. The match changed perceptions of Asian rugby permanently.
The Haka is a traditional Māori war dance and challenge used to intimidate opponents and honor ancestors. The All Blacks have performed it before test matches since 1905 — their most famous version 'Ka Mate' was composed around 1820 by the Māori chief Te Rauparaha. In 2005, the All Blacks introduced 'Kapa o Pango,' a second Haka specifically written for the team, featuring a throat-slitting gesture.
The Six Nations is Europe's premier annual rugby union championship, contested between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales every February and March. It grew from the Home Nations Championship (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales from 1883) to the Five Nations when France joined in 1910, then became the Six Nations when Italy joined in 2000. The Grand Slam — beating all five opponents — is rugby's most prestigious seasonal achievement in the Northern Hemisphere.
