Time Train
Dispatch a little steam train by matching a ticket to its timetable. Convert hours to minutes, minutes to seconds, and mixed times, then find how long trips take across the hour. Complete eight stops and replay with a fresh route.
Read the Timetable
The first stop is ready immediately. Check the requested unit, or read Departure and Arrival to find the trip length.
Work out the duration
For 2 hr 15 min, use the Conversion rule: 2 × 60 + 15 = 135 minutes. For a trip from 6:55 to 7:30, count 5 minutes to 7:00 and 30 minutes after it.
Choose a ticket
Tap a ticket, click it, or use keys 1, 2, or 3. For the mixed time example, choose the ticket for 135 minutes.
Dispatch train
Select Dispatch train or press Enter. If the ticket is too short or too long, use the hint and try another. A match sends the train off and shows the calculation.
Finish the route
Choose Next stop after each success. After eight stops, choose New route to play again. Use Mute or Sound to control the music.
Dispatch with the matching ticket
Choose one of three duration tickets and select Dispatch train. A matching ticket turns the signal green and sends the train down the track.
Convert with groups of 60
Use the Conversion rule for hours and minutes or minutes and seconds. On mixed-unit stops, convert the larger unit first, then add the smaller part.
Cross the hour
Compare Departure and Arrival on the Timetable. After a correct answer, see the minutes to the next hour and the minutes after it add up to the trip duration.
Eight stops with safe retries
A short or long ticket gets a retry hint, and the train stays at the station. Finish eight stops, then choose New route for a new set of problems.
Score, Streak, and Best
A correct ticket earns 100 points plus 10 per current Streak, up to 50 bonus points. A miss resets Streak without taking points away. Best is saved in this browser when storage is available.
Time Train is a fourth-grade measurement game about equivalent durations and elapsed time. Each stop has a Timetable and three duration tickets. On conversion stops, change a time into the requested smaller unit. On trip stops, find how many minutes pass from Departure to Arrival. The train departs when your ticket matches. For example, 1 minute 15 seconds is 75 seconds because one group of 60 plus 15 is 75. A train leaving at 6:55 and arriving at 7:30 takes 35 minutes: 5 minutes to 7:00, then 30 more. The game shows those two parts after a correct ticket.
Keep the duration the same
See that a time can have a different number and unit while representing the same duration.
Break mixed units into parts
Multiply the number of whole hours or minutes by 60, then add the remaining smaller units.
Count through the hour
Split a trip at the next full hour so the clock changing from :59 to :00 does not confuse the calculation.
Use feedback to revise
A too-short or too-long hint helps narrow the choices, and the worked calculation confirms the match.
It converts whole or mixed hours to minutes and whole or mixed minutes to seconds. Trip durations are measured in minutes.
Find the minutes from Departure to the next full hour, then add the minutes from that hour to Arrival. From 6:55 to 7:30, that is 5 + 30 = 35 minutes.
The train stays at the station and the signal shows red. The hint says whether the ticket is too short or too long. Streak resets, but you keep your points and can try again.
No. Take as long as you need to choose a ticket. Tap, click, or use keys 1–3 and Enter; standard Tab navigation also works.
The game draws new times and resets Stops, Score, and Streak. Best and the sound preference stay saved in the same browser when storage is available.
