Line Workshop
Turn a coral line on a sunny drafting table to make it parallel or perpendicular to a blue line. Stamp each correct drawing, collect points, and complete eight builds with fresh orientations on every replay.
Read the request
Make parallel lines means the two lines must point in the same direction without meeting. Make perpendicular lines means they must meet at 90°.
Turn the coral line
Use Turn left or Turn right. Each press turns 15°. You can also use the Left and Right arrow keys; no typed answers are needed.
Stamp your drawing
Press Stamp when the pair matches. For example, if the blue line is horizontal, a horizontal coral line is parallel and a vertical coral line is perpendicular.
Check the feedback
A correct drawing turns green and adds points. A missed stamp resets Streak and lets you turn the same line again without losing points.
Finish and replay
Select Next drawing after each success. After eight drawings, Play again starts a new shuffled set and resets Score and Streak while keeping Best.
Build the relationship
Turn left and Turn right rotate the coral line in 15° steps. The blue reference stays fixed, so you construct a pair instead of choosing a definition.
Varied directions
Horizontal, vertical, and slanted reference lines appear in shuffled rounds. Parallel lines remain separate; perpendicular lines meet at the center.
Stamp and learn
Stamp checks the drawing. A correct pair turns green and displays the relationship rule; a miss keeps the drawing available for another try.
Eight drawings per run
Each run mixes four parallel and four perpendicular builds. A correct stamp earns 100 points plus 10 for each consecutive success, up to a 50-point bonus. A miss resets the streak but does not remove points.
Touch and keyboard
Use the large turn buttons or Left and Right arrow keys. Stamp with the button. Sound can be muted, and the best score is stored on this browser when storage is available.
Line Workshop is a hands-on fourth-grade geometry game about parallel and perpendicular lines. A blue reference line and a coral movable line sit on an illustrated drafting table. Rotate the coral line and stamp the requested relationship. Arrowheads show that the drawn lines continue beyond the visible paper. For a horizontal blue line, turn the coral line horizontally to make a separate parallel pair. For a perpendicular request, turn it vertically so the two lines cross at 90°. Slanted lines follow exactly the same rules. Each eight-drawing run includes both relationships, with fresh orientations on replay.
Construct instead of guess
Rotating a line makes its direction and relationship visible.
See beyond horizontal lines
Slanted and vertical examples help learners recognize relationships in different orientations.
Connect vocabulary to geometry
Feedback connects parallel with never meeting and perpendicular with a right angle.
Practice without a timer
There is no countdown or life limit. Misses invite adjustment and another stamp.
They lie in the same plane, remain the same distance apart, and never meet, even if extended. In the game, match the blue line’s direction with the separate coral line.
They intersect at a right angle, 90°. A correct perpendicular drawing shows a small square at the intersection.
No. Crossing lines are perpendicular only when they meet at 90°. A slanted crossing at another angle will not pass a perpendicular request.
Each correct drawing earns 100 points plus a streak bonus of 10 per consecutive success, capped at 50. A miss resets the streak, keeps your points, and lets you retry.
Tap Turn left or Turn right, or use the Left and Right arrow keys. Each turn is 15°. Use Stamp to check, Next drawing to continue, and Play again after the eighth success.
Each replay shuffles four parallel and four perpendicular requests and generates reference directions and starting angles. Best persists on this browser when storage is available; the current run is not saved.
