PLY (Polygon File Format) is a computer file format used to store 3D data. Originally developed at Stanford University, PLY files can contain vertex positions, face definitions, colors, normals, and texture coordinates. Our PLY viewer supports both ASCII and binary PLY formats, automatically processing vertex colors when available and generating UV coordinates for texture mapping when needed. The viewer normalizes model size and positions it on a grid for optimal viewing.
Your PLY files never leave your device. All 3D rendering happens locally in your browser using WebGL, ensuring your models remain private and secure.
Advanced 3D rendering with realistic lighting, shadows, contact shadows, and environment mapping for professional model visualization.
View PLY files instantly in any modern web browser without downloading or installing specialized 3D modeling software.
Add textures, take screenshots, auto-rotate models, and choose from multiple environment lighting presets for optimal presentation.
Yes, our PLY viewer is completely safe because your files never leave your browser. All 3D processing and rendering happens locally on your device using WebGL and Three.js, ensuring your models remain private.
Our viewer supports both ASCII and binary PLY formats. It automatically detects vertex colors when available and can handle models with or without texture coordinates.
Yes, you can upload PNG, JPG, or JPEG texture files. The viewer will automatically generate UV coordinates for models that don't have them using spherical mapping.
No artificial file size limits are imposed. The viewer processes PLY files entirely in your browser, so the only limitation is your device's available memory and graphics capabilities.
Use the camera icon in the top-right controls to capture high-quality PNG screenshots of your 3D model from the current viewing angle.
